The Forte features a sporty tiger nose grille and a sleek, understated body that you can upgrade with details like a sport grille, gloss black rear spoiler, bumper accents, graphite alloy wheels, and chrome exhaust tips, depending on the trim.
Engine (Power)
All trim levels come with front-wheel drive and an inline four-cylinder engine. The 2.0-liter engine on the FE, LXS, GT-Line, and EX trims generates 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. You can upgrade to the GT's turbocharged 1.6-liter engine for an extra boost, with 201 horsepower, 195 pound-feet of torque, and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters for extra control. The FE comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but you can also opt for Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission that comes with the LXS, GT-Line, and EX trims.
Performance
The Forte has decent handling that only improves when you upgrade to the high-powered GT trim. Although the base trim of the 2020 Forte has a relatively stiff suspension that has a difficult time handling bumpy terrain, it takes corners well and is perfect for highway driving. Depending on which trim you choose, the 2020 Forte can get 25 to 31 miles per gallon in the city and 32 to 41 miles per gallon on the highway.
Interior
The 2020 Kia Forte has a spacious upscale interior that comfortably seats five. The standard FE comes with comfortable cloth seats, six-way adjustable driver's and front passenger's seats, a user-friendly eight-inch touchscreen, four-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and an adjustable steering wheel. Other standard features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual 12v outlets, and an illuminated ignition. Higher trims include luxurious touches like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport seats with red stitching, ambient lighting controls, dual-zone temperature, ventilated seats, and a power sunroof.
