2020 Kia Soul

The 2020 Soul comes with six different trim levels, allowing for plenty of customization and personalization. Drivers can choose from the LX, S, GT-Line, X-Line, EX, or GT-Line Turbo, each of which comes with small adjustments in the Soul's bold exterior design. The base LX trim has an impressive 17 different color options and comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels with full wheel covers, adjustable mirrors, and multi-focus reflector headlights. For extra storage and transportation capabilities, the base Soul also has roof rack mounting points. You can choose one of the higher trim levels for small improvements, like 16-inch alloy wheels on the S or 18-inch alloy wheels on the GT-Line and X-Line. The GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo have an optional sunroof and sporty styling features like red-accented side sills, a chrome-tipped exhaust, and an athletic hot stamping grille included in the GT-Line exterior body kit.

The 2020 Soul has two different powertrains to choose from: a standard 2-liter engine and a turbocharged 1.6-liter option. The LX's basic inline engine pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission to generate 147 horsepower, while the turbo option nets 201 horsepower with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The 2020 Soul has an energetic, peppy feel behind the wheel. It also has good handling considering its boxy shape, allowing the Soul to take turns with ease. The Soul also gets good gas mileage for its class, with a fuel economy range of 27 mpg to 29 mpg for city driving and 33 mpg to 35 mpg for highway driving, depending on trim level.

The 2020 Kia Soul comfortably seats five people, offering ample head and leg room in both the front and back seats of the vehicle. The base LX trim comes with a four-way manually adjustable passenger seat, six-way manually adjustable driver's seat, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats that allow for increased cargo access. The Soul has a user-friendly tech interface as well, with a seven-inch color touch screen display, Android Audio and Apple CarPlay, and calling buttons mounted on the steering wheel for easy access to the Soul's Bluetooth capabilities. Higher trim levels offer premium features and extra convenience, like an ergonomic D-shaped leather steering wheel, center console charging ports, leather accents, and power-adjusted seating with lumbar support. The X-Line offers a variety of ways to improve the Soul's already impressive cargo space with a cargo cover and dual-level cargo board. Premium touches like speaker lights with different ambiance settings, a larger 10.25-inch display, heated front seats, and a synthetic leather trim are also available.

The Kia Soul earned good overall safety ratings and performs well in crash tests, but the standard LX version does not come with any advanced driver-assistance technology other than a rearview camera. You can opt for a higher trim level to get features like blind-spot collision warning, driver attention warning, forward collision avoidance assists, lane change, and lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic collision warning, and pedestrian detection.
