What you pay on a specific car comes down to the trim, the drivetrain and whatever incentives are running that
month. The mix changes month to month, so it is worth seeing what currently applies. Current Kia offers are listed
on the
New Specials page, and you can start a finance or lease
application through the Finance Department before you come
in.
Walking the line, trim by trim:
The LX is the entry point at $24,990 at launch with front-wheel drive. It suits a buyer who wants the Seltos's size
and price and does not need the extras. It runs the same 147-hp 2.0L engine as the S and EX, so nobody on the LX
gives up power to save money, only features.
The S sits one step up, launched at $26,390 with front-wheel drive. It is the middle of the line: a bit more
equipment than the LX without moving into EX territory, with the same 2.0L engine and the same Kia-estimated 30
combined mpg on front-wheel drive.
The EX at $28,390 at launch with front-wheel drive is the most equipped Seltos outside the X-Line trims, and the
only non-X-Line trim you can order the panoramic sunroof on, through the EX Sunroof Package. It still runs the 2.0L
engine, so the jump from S to EX is about equipment, not power.
The X-Line S at $28,990 at launch is built as all-wheel drive only, so choosing it means choosing AWD as a given
rather than an add-on. At $600 over a front-wheel-drive EX, it makes sense for someone who has already decided
all-wheel drive matters and would rather have it built into the price than added as an option lower down the line.
It still uses the 2.0L engine, so the extra money buys the AWD hardware and the X-Line treatment, not more power.
The X-Line SX at $32,790 at launch is the only trim with the turbocharged 1.6L and its 190 hp, and the only one that
carries the X-Line SX Prestige Package equipment described below. It is the pick if you want the most power in the
lineup and the most feature-rich cabin, and all-wheel drive is already settled for you: like the X-Line S, the SX is
built AWD-only.
