2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid

The Telluride Hybrid combines a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 1.65-kWh lithium-ion battery and electric motors for a combined 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, routed through a 6-speed automatic transmission. That is 38 more horsepower and 77 more lb-ft of torque than the previous-generation Telluride's V6, with far better efficiency. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available.

Two features set the hybrid apart from the gas model. Standard e-VMC (Electrification-Vehicle Motion Control) uses brake and motor control to sharpen handling and stability. Stay Mode runs the climate system, cabin lighting, and stereo for up to an hour, or until the battery drops to about 20 percent, without starting the engine, which is built for tailgates, campsites, and long waits in the car.

When properly equipped with the available self-leveling rear suspension, the Telluride Hybrid tows up to 4,500 lbs.

The jumps between trims are easy to map. The EX is the value play, and it does not feel stripped: heated and ventilated front seats, a power sunroof, captain's chairs, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen all come standard, with all-wheel drive available. It suits a buyer who wants the hybrid powertrain and three rows without paying for premium audio or the larger displays.

Stepping up to the SX is mostly a technology and comfort upgrade. It adds the dual 12.3-inch displays, Meridian 14-speaker audio, a 10-way memory driver's seat, and self-leveling rear suspension that steadies the ride under a loaded cargo area or a trailer. The one catch is that the SX is front-wheel drive only. Buyers who want all-wheel drive at this level move to the X-Line SX, which carries the same technology and adds standard AWD, Terrain Mode, 21-inch wheels, and the blacked-out X-Line styling.

The two Prestige trims are about cabin experience rather than capability. They bring Engineered Wood and SynTex Suede materials, heated and ventilated 2nd-row captain's chairs, and a more upscale tech set including the head-up display and Digital Key 2.0. The available Executive Package goes further with 1st-row power leg rests, power 2nd-row seats, a heated 3rd row, and a Relaxation Mode for the first two rows. Cargo room runs 21.3 cu ft behind the 3rd row, 47.7 cu ft behind the 2nd row, and 88.3 cu ft with both rear rows folded, plus a standard folding luggage table with cupholders. Heated and ventilated front seats are standard across the lineup. Step up to a Prestige trim and the 2nd-row captain's chairs add heating and ventilation, and the available Executive Package brings 1st-row power leg rests, power 2nd-row seats, a heated 3rd row, and Relaxation Mode.

At the center of the dash is the ccNC system with a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays available from the SX up. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on every trim, along with dual front wireless chargers, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and over-the-air update capability.

The SX and above add a Meridian 14-speaker premium audio system. Prestige trims layer in a 12-inch head-up display, an ECM Full Display Mirror, and ultra-wideband Digital Key 2.0 that turns a compatible phone or smartwatch into a vehicle key.

The Telluride Hybrid carries 10 standard airbags, including a front-center airbag between the driver and front passenger.
