Why There Is No 2026 Kia Telluride

The transition from the 2025 model year directly to the 2027 model year coincided with the launch of the Telluride’s first complete redesign since its debut. The 2025 Telluride. served as the final version of the original generation, featuring the long-standing V6 engine and classic styling. Production then shifted to the next-generation Telluride, which introduced a new platform and updated powertrains.

For shoppers, this means there is no "in-between" model. The 2027 Telluride arrived in showrooms during the early months of the 2026 calendar year, bringing with it a shift to turbocharged and hybrid power alongside a reimagined interior. Buyers are currently choosing between the established 2025 model and the modernized 2027 successor.

The transition to the 2027 Kia Telluride. is a full generational shift rather than a simple facelift. The redesign introduces a larger footprint, a fundamentally different powertrain strategy, and a digital environment that aligns with Kia’s newest design language. While the 2025 model represents the final V6-powered version of the first generation, the 2027 redesign shifts toward stronger torque, improved efficiency, and updated cabin technology.

The most significant mechanical change for the 2027 model year is the retirement of the 3.8L V6 engine. In its place, Kia has introduced two new powertrains that focus on low-end torque and overall range.

The 2027 Telluride adopts a boxier, more upright exterior inspired by the Kia EV9. Its larger footprint is defined by sharper lines and a new vertical LED lighting signature, giving it a more substantial road presence than the outgoing model.

Inside, the cabin has been digitized with a new panoramic display layout. Higher trims feature the ccNC "Digital Cockpit", which combines the instrument cluster and navigation screen into a single curved unit spanning nearly 30 inches. Connectivity is also streamlined, as Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Wireless Android Auto™ are now standard across the entire trim lineup.

Thanks to a 3-inch wheelbase stretch and an increase in overall length, the 2027 Telluride offers improved interior volume. This extra length translates directly into more legroom for second- and third-row passengers, making the cabin feel noticeably more spacious during full-occupancy trips.

Utility remains a core focus with a smart cargo table in the rear and flexible 7- or 8-passenger configurations. While the 2025 model offered V6 performance, the 2027 model maintains a 5,000 lb towing capacity on gas models while adding more advanced camera systems, such as a Digital Rearview Mirror, to assist with visibility when the cargo area is full.
