Big Butler Fair

Held over the fourth of July, the Big Butler Fair has been an event/festival in Butler for more than 150 years. If you haven’t been to this fair, its an experience that you have to see to believe. You can enjoy exhibits, concerts, livestock, rides, harness racing, grandstand events, demolition derbies, and tractor pulls.

There is free parking and many food vendors. The Big Butler Fair is the most expansive fair to be held in Western Pennsylvania and is quite possibly the best fair in America. This fair is considered by many to be an excellent example of American family values with families visiting from West Virginia, Ohio, New York, and all across Pennsylvania. You will also be able to celebrate the Fourth of July with an impressive fireworks show.

Butler Farm Show

In August, you will be ready to visit the Butler Farm Show. Butler County’s community of farmers is showcased during this show/festival. There are many farm-related activities for you and your family to enjoy, such as exhibits, judging, animals, arts and crafts, farm products, and demonstrations. You can also enjoy other activities, including music, rides, midway, truck and tractor pulls, and different types of entertainment.

With an additional charge, you can take part in an airplane or paddleboat ride. The Butler Farm Show began in 1947 as a plowing contest and grew into a full show that gives an in-depth look into farm-life. After experiencing this event, you will have a better understanding and respect for America’s farming communities.

Butler Fall Festival

One festival in Butler, Pennsylvania, that you don’t want to miss is the Butler Fall Festival, which is held every year in September. This family-oriented festival hosts many local ethnic foods such as stuffed grape leaves, gyros, spinach pie, tacos, nachos, fried rice, baklava, egg rolls, onion rings, hot sausage, cheese sticks, turkey legs, and fried jalapeño poppers. If the food isn’t enough, you can enjoy children’s activities, regional crafters, and entertainment opportunities.

The festival is held in downtown Butler on Main Street, stretches from Brady Street to Diamond Park, and is free to the public. With local bands playing the main stage, acoustic artists performing in the park, a kids zone, and all the excellent food, there is something for the whole family to enjoy at the Butler Fall Festival. There’s even a car show for classic and modern car enthusiasts.
