Mamma mia! Is there anything better than Italian food? Pasta, pizza, cheese, roasted meats, tiramisu: it’s all good. If you’re in the mood for Italian tonight, we’ve got a roundup of the best places in Butler, PA.

Villa Grande

The best place in town, hands down, is Villa Grande, which you’ll find at 183 New Castle Rd. There’s nothing not to like here. The staff are helpful and kind, the food is hot and delicious, and the prices reasonable. Try the pasta paesano and the buffalo wings. The pizza is also great, especially because of its homemade sauce.

Don’t let the outside of this place fool you. It doesn’t look like much, but once you’re through the doors, you’ll know what we mean. If you go at lunch, the hot hoagies are to die for. This is a bring your own wine place, and they will uncork without a fee. If you choose to drink, please do so in moderation, and be sure to have a designated driver!

Natili North

Natili North is located at 204 N Main Street, and this one is a very close second for best Italian in the city. The staff here treat you like family, and everything–from the sauce to the noodles to the pizza dough to the dressing–is made by hand. The daily soups are always made with love, and you can taste it.

Try the stuffed pork chops, one of the fresh salads, and the french fried provolone cheese sticks. And if you have any room left over, which is unlikely, you need to try one of their homemade desserts. You’ll have to stop in to see what’s on offer each day.

Mac’s Brick Oven Pizza

As the name suggests, pizza is the primary reason to visit this place at 120 E Jefferson Street. These Italian-style wood-fired pizzas are thin, crispy, and full of flavor. Their organic salads are also not to be missed, and the gluten-free pizza is a winner.

We recommend the simple pepperoni–it just doesn’t get any better than this–and be sure to get the salad. It’s not every day that a pizza place has a hand-crafted Italian salad with a housemade dressing. We also recommend the burrata caprese, the butter garlic parm bites, and the tiramisu.

Anna Marie’s Winery and Cafe

Stop over at 790 E Butler Road for a hidden gem. The patio is the place to be when it’s not snowing, but the inside is also gorgeous. Be sure to get a reservation, as there’s not much room and it fills up quickly. The wine tastings are a great reason to go; just be sure to drink responsibly and get a designated driver.

We have to recommend the stuffed pretzel appetizer, bruschetta, the artichoke dip, and the chicken parm. The gluten-free pizza here is also very good. Be sure to come hungry, because it would be a shame to waste a visit here.
