Available Trims

Kia’s hybrid SUV comes in three trim levels. These start off with the base-level LX. The middle-of-the-road option is the EX. The top tier is the SX Prestige. All three trim levels come with the same engine, but the interior and exterior features change quite a bit between them.


Performance

The Sportage comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain. It delivers a maximum of 227 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft of torque. The 227 horsepower represents a best-in-class rating for the Sportage hybrid. This hybrid SUV averages 42 miles to the gallon in the city and 44 on the highway.

Interior Features

The base-level LX has standard remote keyless entry and available heated front seats. The driver has a 12.2-inch instrument display.

The EX comes with a power driver’s seat with power lumbar support. The middle-of-the-road trim level also adds a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. The SX Prestige elevates the driver’s seat, adding a memory system.


Infotainment

Kia added an excellent eight-inch diagonal touchscreen display to the Sportage hybrid. It also comes standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The EX trim level upgrades this already respectable touchscreen to a 12.3-inch display with navigation and Kia Connect. It also adds a wireless phone charger to the mix. The SX Prestige adds a premium sound system with eight speakers from Harmon Kardon.


Advanced Safety Technology

A rearview camera comes standard along with Kia Drive Wise Driver Assist, their safety technology package. This includes a long list of features like lane following assist, rear parking sensors, high beam assist, and rear occupant alert. Additionally, the standard package comes with lane-keeping assist and forward collision avoidance. The SX Prestige trim level adds a blind spot monitor and a surround-view monitor.
