A Yellow Kia Seltos parked outside

The Kia Seltos is a subcompact SUV that blends comfort and convenience with versatility both under the hood and in the range of included standard safety features. Keep reading to learn more about why you should consider talking to a Kia dealer about the 2023 Seltos if you’re in the market for a new SUV.

Powered by two available powertrains, a 146-horsepower 2L four-cylinder engine and a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder that produces 175 horsepower, the Seltos provides a peppy amount of power in a small profile. Ideal for city and suburban driving, the Seltos also offers a respectable amount of cargo space for carrying around your stuff, with 26.6 cubic feet available in the trunk and 62.8 cubic feet when the rear row is folded flat.

What’s New for 2023?

The changes for 2023 are relatively minor, as Kia has announced that they will be performing a refresh on the model in the 2024 model year. However, that’s not to say that the updates aren’t substantive. All trim levels of the 2023 Seltos have been upgraded with privacy glass that reduces the amount of ambient noise that makes it into the cabin, creating a smoother and quieter ride.

Additionally, the S-level trim has been upgraded with additional standard safety features, including automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert sensors, and blind spot alert sensors. The S trim also now has access to an optional 10.3-inch infotainment system with navigation integrated, which was previously locked to higher-level trims only.

Infotainment and Cabin Technology

The Seltos comes standard with remote keyless entry, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an 8-inch touchscreen on its infotainment system that can be upgraded to a 10.3-inch screen.

Optional upgrades include wireless charging, integrated navigation, two additional USB charging ports, and a premium Bose sound system.

Safety Features

Kia is known for its robust safety technology offerings on its newest vehicles, and the Seltos comes standard with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, driver drowsiness monitoring, and a rearview camera.

Optional upgrades include cyclist detection, highway driving assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit warning for backseat passengers.
